Summary:
Kantara: A Legend – Chapter 1 is a mythological-action-drama, whose story is set during the Kadamba dynasty of ancient India, around the 4th-5th century AD. The story centers on a forest and the indigenous people living there, who live with deep faith in nature and the gods. A conflict begins over their land and the forest, when King Kulasekhar (Gulshan Devaiah) wants to take possession of the forest to expand his kingdom. The leader of the forest dwellers, Berme, who is both a warrior and a spiritual being, rebels against the royal power with the blessings of the god Panjurli Daiva. This conflict shows the complex interplay of man, politics and divine power—where justice and injustice, faith and disbelief, and the struggle for power become one. In the climax of the film, Berme, empowered by divine powers, waged a final struggle against the monarchy and emerged as the ‘Legend’, the protector of the forest and humans. The story ends with a mysterious and spiritual ending, hinting at the future “Kantara: A Legend – Chapter 2”, where the continuation of this narrative and the deeper aspects of the mythology will be further revealed.
